Travel

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has a number of routes that access the airport on a regular schedule, day and night. The buses, subway and street car system of the TTC can bring you from the airport to almost anywhere downtown and around the city for $2.75 one-way. Airports: The University of Toronto, located in Downtown Toronto, is easily reachable from Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and from Toronto City Centre Airport located on Toronto Island. Both airports are serviced by public transportation via Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).

From Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to UofT campus

There are several transportation options from Pearson Airport: rental cars, public transportation, shuttles and taxis are all available. The airport is about 30 minutes by car, or 60 minutes by public transportation. Detailed information can be found at http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/airport_information/ground_transportatio/.

Public transportation (TTC) directions

  1. Take the 192 "Airport Rocket" bus route from Terminals 1 or 3 to the Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line (approximately 20 min. travel time).
  2. Take the subway east from Kipling Station to the St. George Station (located at intersection of St. George Street and Bloor Street). UofT campus is immediately south of Bloor Street.

Airport Express

This service shuttles to and from a number of downtown hotels to the airport. It operates on a 20-30 minute schedule depending on time of day. One-way fares are approximately $17, or $30 for a round trip. Further information about schedules, and stops can be found at www.torontoairportexpress.com.

Taxis

Airport Taxis and municipal taxis can be taken from each terminal of the Pearson (Toronto) International Airport. Airport Taxis usually charge a fixed price based on distance (about $50 to downtown). Municipal taxis usually charge by kilometre/time. Further infromation can be found on the Person's taxi services.

  1. Take HWY 409 (Belfield Expressway) east.
  2. Merge onto HWY 401 (MacDonald Cartier Expwy) east.
  3. Take exit 365 (Allen Road) and turn onto Allen Road south.
  4. Turn left (east) at Eglinton Avenue West.
  5. Turn right (south) at Bathurst Street.
  6. Turn left (east) on St Clair Avenue West.
  7. Turn right (south) on Avenue Road.
  8. Turn left (west) on Bloor Street West and drive to St George Street.
  9. UofT campus is immediately south of Bloor Street.

From Toronto City Centre Airport to UofT campus

From Toronto City Centre Airport, only public transportation and taxis are available.

Public transportation (TTC) directions

  1. Take Airport Ferry to Bathurst Street. The ferry runs approximately every 15 minutes.
  2. Walk one block north to Queens Quay West.
  3. Take the 509 streetcar to Union Station.
  4. Take the subway north toward St. Andrew Station. Exit the subway at St George Station. UofT campus is immediately south of Bloor Street.
