Daire Crawford is a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. She received her MASc degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto (2022) and H.BSc in Human Biology in the Faculty of Arts & Science from the University of Toronto (2019). During her MASc degree, she leveraged machine learning techniques to determine the impacts of different antibiotic prescription regimens on community-acquired Clostridioides difficile infections. Daire’s current research is focused on developing a surrogate machine learning model for a COVID-19 agent-based simulation to investigate the impacts of different mitigation strategies on disease spread. This work is co-supervised by Dr. Laura Rosella from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.
