Hanxing is a MEng student in the department of mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto and a volunteer researcher at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center. Hanxing completed her BASc in Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto. Prior to her MEng, as a Process Engineering Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Hanxing facilitated the feasibility and validation trial of the world’s first COVID-19 oral treatment and launched the first commercial batch.

Hanxing’s research focuses on using machine learning and deep learning methods to develop auto segmentation models for clinical decision support. Her research project involves the development of deep learning-based models to accurately detect and segment lung nodules from patient’s CT scans.
