Suting Yang is a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. She received her MASc degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto (2020) and BASc degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Toronto (2018). Suting’s research lies in big data analytics and simulation. During her MASc, Suting utilized big data to investigate MRI utilization trends over the last decade. She was also the analytics lead for HowsMyFlattening, an online web tool to provide in-time COVID-19 information to the public. Suting’s PhD project applies simulation to investigate single-entry waitlist strategies to improve elective surgical scheduling wait times across Ontario.
