Yiyang Qu is an MASc student in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. He completed his BASc in Engineering Science, specializing in Financial Engineering in 2022, where he also completed his undergraduate thesis with Fidelity’s data analytics team.

Yiyang’s research focus is on implementing machine learning algorithms in the bone marrow transplant field, with a specific interest in using explanation tools to provide more interpretability for machine learning models to predict survival and extract deep relationships from them.
